What is Mintec?
Mintec capsules contain peppermint oil as the active ingredient. The capsules are enteric-coated. This coating means that the capsules do not dissolve in the stomach but instead in the intestine where they are needed. Mintec is very similar to Colpermin.
What symptoms does it treat?
Mintec acts on the smooth muscle in the bowel wall and helps it to relax. This is designed to reduce spasms and pressure within the bowel, and therefore help with general IBS symptoms.
How is it taken?
Mintec comes in capsule form, and the capsules are swallowed whole with water.
